Firewall -- security guard for our computers

We have to be very careful with the internet. Don't trust the internet, it may cause damage to you. With the increasing usage of computers, hackers are becoming more active to steal our data.

Let us know the meaning of a firewall?

A firewall is an important component in a network that filters the incoming and outgoing traffic based on the requests from the user or organization. It acts as a barrier between private networks and the public internet.

Let us see the difference with and without a firewall

If the firewall is not available while we are accessing data from the internet, hackers can easily enter into our computers and can steal data.

But if the firewall is present it can filter the data and can send the data which is needed for us. It blocks the entry of hackers into our system with the help of IP addresses.

What are the types of firewalls?

Host-based firewall:

It is a type of firewall which is installed in our system software. It can save only one host from hackers.

Network-based firewalls:

It is a combination of both hardware and software. It protects the whole network from hackers.

Can we say a firewall can give 100% protection?

It is not sure that a firewall can give 100% protection. Hackers can penetrate through it by sending more and more traffic. A firewall can protect us as much as it can. We can observe two firewalls, one is in our network and another one is in our system. If the unwanted data penetrates through a network-based firewall it can be caught by a host-based firewall and can stop it. So never turn off your firewall in your system. The whole network is like this:
