First of all, let us know the meaning of Operating system shortly OS.

OS is an interface between the user and computer hardware. OS is used to interact with computer components.

Example of OS is windows, Linux, Mac OS, etc.

Many of us know about these OS's existence but there is an OS that many of us don't know named Chrome OS introduced by google based on Linux kernel. It consists of only a chrome home page and primarily works on web applications. See how it looks like:

This operating system simply functions as a portal for accessing the Internet and facilitates the connections and interactions between users and apps or data stored in the cloud.

Now we are going to know the advantages and disadvantages of Chrome OS:

Advantages:

1.Fast and smooth operations
 
Here there is no much work that needs more hardware. Its just works on web applications that too accessing from the cloud. So it can run on minimal hardware and work smoothly.

2.Integration with android OS

The applications which support android can be accessed in Chrome OS which is not a feature in other operating systems.

3.Security

Chrome OS is the most secure. This OS updates automatically and has a highly secure programme.
For sending mails or storing private data this OS is more helpful.

4.Affordable and Portable

As it needs minimal hardware the price is less and the weight will be lesser than other computers.

Disadvantages:

1.Not suitable for heavy users

Chrome OS is not suitable for users who need high capacity hardware. For example, the users who want to play games or create games, this OS will not be useful.

2.Only online

We can access Chrome OS only in online mode. We can't access apps offline. As it has access to cloud it needs data.
